Cozy Creek Cottages is happy to supply the grand prize for the Brevard Elementary Birdhouse and Feeder contest.  We feel it is important to support the surrounding communities in any way we can. 

Grand Prize Restrictions and Terms:

There will be one grand prize awarded by Cozy Creek Cottages. Grand Prize is a two night stay in cottage number 5 and 4 tickets to Ghost Town in the Sky.  This is a one bedroom cottage that sleeps 5 people.  More cottage information can be found on this website.  This grand prize must be used in the 2008 year.  It is advised to make reservations at least two to three weeks in advance.  Cancellation of reservation would void prize.  Rental fees, taxes, and cleaning charges are waived making your lodging stay completely free.  Prizes may not be cashed in for monetary value.

Project Information Sheet

            Try this “just for the birds” project and help make BES, Brevard and the surrounding area more beautiful.  This is a family contest to create a birdhouse or feeder that will be placed around school grounds, Brevard, and Cozy Creek Cottages in Maggie Valley*.   Projects due by 9:00 am. April 30th.

       Guidelines and Terms:

  • All birdhouses and feeders must be made primarily out of wood to weather well.
  • No birdhouse or feeder may be purchased pre-made or as a kit.
  • All birdhouses and feeders must be able to be mounted on top of a 4 inch by 4 inch post or hung from a wire.
  • Any birdhouse must have a way to be opened to clean out any nest each year .

 

First, Second, and Third places will be given in the feeder category and also the house category.  There will be one grand prize awarded by Cozy Creek Cottages. * Cozy Creek Cottages reserves the right to choose a portion of the entries and the grand prize winner entry to place on their premises and also displayed on their website.  BES will display many houses and feeders around its campus.  All other feeders and houses will be donated to the town of Brevard for display.  Judges will be the principal, guidance counselor, art teacher, custodian, school officer, and one member of the Brevard community.  Judges will look for creativity and how well guidelines were followed.
